I am a passionate Designer with 20+ years of experience designing and developing home fashions product. I studied Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and spent the early years of my career designing apparel. During that time, I steadily gained knowledge about textiles and manufacturing processes, and coupled that with my love of trend, print/pattern, color and silhouette. I lived and worked in New York City, traveling across the United States and to Europe for design inspiration. To broaden my horizons, I moved to San Francisco, continuing to work in apparel, and there met the team that led to my eventual transition into Home Textiles.
Once back in New York, I accepted a freelance position with American Pacific Enterprises, and from that point on I was hooked on Home Fashions. I enjoy all aspects of product development and line building: market analysis to identify "whitespace"; vetting of trend; fabric sourcing; and base cloth development, inclusive of print and jacquard pattern. I particularly enjoy the travel associated with trend and overseas sourcing. I have visited many factories to see manufacturing firsthand, which has informed my design process. I have personally benefitted from my work travel, having been to Europe, India, and Asia, interacting with diverse cultures and people. I have used all of my collective experience to design successful product, much of it with an emphasis on attribute enhancements. As consumers needs and preferences shift, I have focused on designing and developing sustainable product, incorporating recycled fibers and certified fabrications. I believe this is the future of design.
